Polyvantis outlines ESG strategy and innovation for K 2025

Polyvantis outlines ESG strategy…

Polyvantis will use K 2025 to present its Environmental, Social, and Governance approach, positioning the company’s film and sheet portfolio within a framework of measurable sustainability actions. The strategy is organized around three pillars, Design for sustainability, Sustainable manufacturing, and Efficient use of resources. The company links these pillars to long-life materials design, operational efficiency, and circular solutions, with additional emphasis on workforce, safety and governance practices. As chief executive Sandeep Dhawan noted, the company sees sustainability as an ongoing discipline embedded across functions: "At Polyvantis, sustainability is not a milestone; it is a mindset. We design materials to last, manufacture responsibly, and hold ourselves to the highest safety and governance standards. This is how we deliver solutions our customers can trust while shaping a more sustainable future for the industry." Together, these pillars guide how the company innovates, operates and creates value for customers, with the stated intent of advancing industry-wide progress.

Within this structure, Polyvantis points to long service life, reduced waste and weight, energy-efficient operations and closed-loop material flows as key levers. The company reports recent investment in on-site renewable energy, greenhouse gas monitoring across scopes, and certification to recognized management systems. It also cites actions to expand recycled content options in polycarbonate and acrylic grades and to extend transparency in mass balance through ISCC+ certification at key sites. According to the company, these steps are intended to equip OEMs and brand owners with practical pathways to lower carbon footprints and to support circularity initiatives.

Design for sustainability

Polyvantis states that its materials are designed for durability measured in decades, with warranties of up to 30 years available on selected products. The company links long life and lightweight construction to waste and carbon reduction while maintaining performance in demanding applications, including stadiums and aircraft. The design approach is presented as an enabler for customers and OEMs to participate in circularity programs and to reduce environmental impact across the value chain.

Sustainable manufacturing

Across its production network, Polyvantis reports the use of energy-efficient equipment, process optimization and continuous improvement to lower environmental impact. A recent solar installation at the Weiterstadt, Germany, site is cited as reducing CO2 emissions by more than 750 metric tons per year. The company is advancing greenhouse gas monitoring with Scope 1 and 2 data collection underway and Scope 3 evaluations in progress. Polyvantis indicates that these datasets will underpin science-based reduction targets and a long-term climate strategy.

Efficient use of resources

The company emphasizes water conservation, scrap minimization and energy efficiency. A closed-loop PMMA recycling program returns end-of-life sheets to the material cycle, offering customers a practical circular option. ISCC+ certification at key locations is used to support transparency and traceability for mass balance and recycled content. In addition, new polycarbonate and acrylic grades with post-customer recycled content are being introduced to provide more sustainable material choices for OEMs and brand owners.

People and governance

Polyvantis highlights its focus on workforce diversity, safety and ethics, guided by internationally recognized standards. The company operates under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, positioning these systems as mechanisms for continuous improvement and stakeholder confidence. The company states that embedding responsibility alongside innovation is central to setting higher benchmarks for the film and sheet industry.
