Oerlikon Textile opens crimper repair workshop in Charlotte

Oerlikon Textile opens crimper…

Oerlikon Textile Inc. has started operating a dedicated crimper repair workshop at its Charlotte facility. Launched at the beginning of the year, it is the company’s first site worldwide to provide this service. The workshop focuses primarily on Fleissner and Neumag crimpers. In staple fiber production, crimping is one of the most important and demanding process steps. A uniform and stable crimp is crucial for optimum product quality. Ensuring that essential crimping components remain in sound condition, and repairing them promptly, helps prevent production downtime.

To support these requirements, Oerlikon Textile Inc. has established a competence center at the Charlotte site. The team performs complete overhauls, including pressure roller and chamber repairs, and checks the pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems. Each crimper is delivered pre-set and undergoes a thorough test run before handover. According to the company, these services are covered by a warranty.

"With this new service, we can work closely with our customers and guarantee the best service with OEM standards and short response times," says Daniel Möller-Langmaack, team leader service sales staple fiber at Oerlikon Neumag. "This repair center is another important step in helping our customers to be successful and profitable in their business," adds Tilmann Seidel, vice president and head of customer services at Oerlikon Neumag.

Service scope and customer support

The Charlotte workshop concentrates on restoring the performance of Fleissner and Neumag crimpers through complete overhauls and functional checks of mechanical and auxiliary systems. Pre-set delivery and a thorough test run are intended to help customers quickly return equipment to stable operation. The company states that the offering is carried out to OEM standards and backed by a warranty, with the goal of safeguarding product quality and minimizing unplanned downtime.
