New managing director for Arburg Poland

New managing director for…

As of 1 January 2021, the Arburg subsidiary in Poland has a new Managing Director in the person of Konrad Szymczak. He succeeds Dr Slawomir Sniady, who successfully established and expanded Arburg Polska Sp. z o o. and has now retired after 25 years. Poland is one of the most important and strongest markets in Europe for Arburg and has been served by its own subsidiary in Warsaw since 1992.

The Polish market is very well balanced. Strong industries include medical technology and packaging, but also automotive, white goods and electrical/electronics. In recent years, Arburg has purposefully built up intensive contacts with customers in all the above-mentioned industries. Automation and robotics are becoming increasingly important in Poland. Arburg offers solutions for whatever is needed and is very well positioned with its new subsidiary premises in Warsaw (built in 2016) and experienced local team.

Continuity and expertise

Konrad Szymczak sets his future priorities as Managing Director accordingly: "I think that the further successful development of the Arburg subsidiary in Poland will depend to a large extent on the confidence that customers from various industries have in the skills and flexibility of our team. Some customers have known the staff here for years and have a close relationship with them – both personally and professionally. This is why I want to continue to target the development of skills and abilities in employees as well as in myself, and so strengthen and expand our customer relationships."

Skilled in technical and commercial matters

Konrad Szymczak holds both technical and commercial academic qualifications, which make him ideally suited for his leadership role in Poland. He holds a Master of Science with Engineer's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics and Automation Engineering from Lodz University of Technology and an Executive MBA from Oxford Brooks University. Before taking up his position at Arburg, he was Managing Director of the Polish subsidiary of a German family-owned company. He is therefore very familiar with both the Polish B2B market and the corporate philosophy of family-run companies – and accordingly appreciates their uncomplicated internal communications and high degree of flexibility.
