At ProPak Asia, taking place from 10 to 13 June, the KHS Group will present in Bangkok its portfolio of systems and solutions for filling and packaging technology. According to the company, the exhibit will focus on service offerings intended to support line reliability, technological efficiency and an approach to packaging described by KHS as sustainable. The booth is intended as a meeting point with the company’s experts, with the main theme remaining service for users of filling and packaging machines and lines.
"ProPak Asia is the most important trade show for us in Southeast Asia. This is where the region’s entire beverage and packaging industry comes together," says Ulrich Mempel, head of KHS Asia. He also points to the nature of the event: "At ProPak Asia we celebrate our relations with our customers. We take lots of time for them, showing them that KHS is the reliable partner at their side when it comes to technology, packaging and of course service."
In the company’s statement, KHS reports that demand for service offerings has increased in recent months. KHS links this to the market situation in Asia, which it describes as still growing for the beverage and packaging sector, while noting a drop in consumer confidence due to geopolitical and economic uncertainty. In this context, the company declares it supports beverage producers through advanced service concepts and a strong local presence in the region.
Service scope: maintenance, conversions and training
The KHS booth is to showcase a broad service portfolio, with particular emphasis on maintenance, conversions and training. The company states it has 200 service engineers in the Asia/Pacific region to provide fast and cost-effective support depending on customer needs. In parallel, KHS points to ongoing work on solutions intended to further optimize the supply of spare parts.
Among the services that, according to KHS, are currently in high demand are training programs for specialist personnel. The manufacturer states that its experts train operators directly on site, while also developing digital learning concepts such as the KHS Virtual Training Center and KHS Technical Talks.
System solutions for different packaging segments
KHS states that despite the tense economic situation in Asia, its new machine business in the region is developing positively. Particularly strong demand is said to be for flexible high-performance system solutions with low energy consumption and reduced wear. The company indicates that, as a turnkey supplier with line expertise, it is positioned to deliver such complete solutions.
Ulrich Mempel points to the diversity of requirements in Southeast Asia: "We have suitable equipment for all capacity ranges and container segments. This plays right into our hand here in Southeast Asia in particular, as market specifications and requirements differ greatly between the various countries." As examples, KHS points to Thailand, where the PET bottle is said to be the dominant container, and Vietnam, where the can is said to be the preferred type of primary packaging.
At ProPak Asia, KHS says it will present its latest developments for all container segments. In the canning segment, the company mentions the SmartCan Eco compact filler/seamer block, referring to its efficiency and hygiene. In the PET segment, the InnoPET FreshSafe QuadBlock is presented as a new all-round solution, combining stretch blow molding, labeling and filling modules, with InnoPET Plasmax barrier technology, within a turnkey system. For the glass segment, KHS highlights the Innoclean Cascade D bottle washer, which it describes as setting new standards in resource efficiency.
The company states that its solutions can be seen at ProPak Asia from 10 to 13 June at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani (Bangkok), at KHS booth C2-AC04.
