Hasco has been recognised by the Institute for Plastics Processing in Industry and Craft at RWTH Aachen University, commonly known as IKV, for its long-standing commitment to the institute’s work. During the recent K plastics exhibition in Düsseldorf, Executive Vice President André Brandt accepted an honorary certificate presented by Professor Christian Hopmann, Head of IKV, and plant engineer Martin Seeliger. The recognition reflects a partnership that has spanned more than 50 years, during which the company has been both a member and a sponsor of IKV.
Hasco is an international producer of standardised, modular mould units and customised hot runner systems. The company’s approach centres on continuously refining its expertise in mouldmaking and the injection moulding of plastics. Innovation is identified as a defining element of its activity. For more than five decades, Hasco has supported IKV as a research and training institute, and serves as the main sponsor of the Excellence in Production competition. IKV, founded 75 years ago by companies in the emerging plastics industry, operates under the leitmotif of expertise, passion and a pioneering spirit to shape the plastics technology of tomorrow, qualities that the company associates with its own history.
Throughout the collaboration, Hasco has contributed high-quality products and new developments to IKV’s research and training environments, helping to create conditions for innovation in mouldmaking and plastics processing. Commenting on the award, André Brandt said: "Hasco, as a technology leader, has always sought to support young people in their studies and practical training, and to introduce them early in their careers to our modular system, our standard mould units and our hot runner systems." He added that many of the company’s product and service developments are initiated through close cooperation with partners such as IKV.
According to the company, discussions at the K plastics exhibition reaffirmed the intention of both parties to continue their collaboration on the future of mouldmaking and plastics processing. As noted in their joint statement: "In the last 50 years, we have together provided important impetus for the industry, and we will continue to be a key source of innovation in the future.
