Thermal insulating sheets are used between heated injection and compression moulding tools and the machine platens to limit uncontrolled heat loss. Hasco has expanded its proven Z12120/... series with additional 6 and 8 mm sheet thicknesses. New locating flange variants Z7515/…, Z7526/… and Z7527/… are specifically matched to these insulating sheets to ensure an accurate fit and high stability, including in demanding applications. The update is aimed at improving energy efficiency, temperature control and overall process robustness in moulding operations.
The sheets combine a low thermal conductivity coefficient with high long-term thermal resistance, supporting energy-efficient processing and stable operating conditions. Their chemical resistance contributes to a long service life and consistent reliability, even under challenging environments. According to the application profile, energy savings of up to 50 percent can be achieved, while a more homogeneous mould temperature improves component quality and process reliability. After a temperature change, target mould temperatures are reached faster, which shortens set-up times and supports higher productivity.
Constructed from high-quality glass fibre fabric and a high-temperature resin, the Hasco thermal insulating sheets offer excellent dimensional stability. A coefficient of expansion comparable to steel helps maintain accurate assembly under extreme temperatures. With a parallelism of 0.02 mm, they support precise mould guidance, minimise flash formation and improve ventilation. These characteristics enable consistent performance and a long service life of moulding tools in series production.
Design options and cleanroom variant
The series is available in thicknesses from 5 to 8.5 mm and in conventional options, allowing integration into existing systems. For cleanroom environments, an optional PTFE protective coating is offered. This coating is designed to prevent particle shedding and to block the penetration of oils or lubricants, which is suitable for applications in medical and food technology.
Digital support
The Hasco App includes a calculation tool that determines the surface temperature of thermal insulating sheets. This function supports selection and design, helping users specify the appropriate configuration for their respective applications.
