GreenDot acquires Anviplas Spain and strengthens LDPE recycling

GreenDot acquires Anviplas…

GreenDot continues to expand its European plastics recycling platform by integrating Anviplas Spain, a company specializing in LDPE recycling, into the group. The plant, located in Navarcles, Catalonia, has an annual processing capacity of 30,000 tonnes and increases the company’s capabilities in sourcing and supplying high-quality natural and translucent LDPE recyclates for European converters and brand owners. The transaction follows shortly after the integration of the French RG Group and represents another step in building GreenDot’s cross-border recycling structure in Europe. With the Spanish facility added, the company now operates a total of six modern mechanical plastics recycling plants, located in Hörstel and Eisfeld in Germany, Piacenza in Italy, Tence and Saint-Pal-de-Mons in France, and Navarcles in Spain. The combined recycling capacity across all material streams in the GreenDot network now amounts to 175,000 tonnes per year. The company’s portfolio covers LDPE, HDPE and PP recycling.

The company statement emphasizes that the integration of Anviplas Spain is significant not only operationally, but also strategically. GreenDot says the move strengthens Europe’s recycling infrastructure at a time of growing demand for high-specification recyclates and tightening regulatory requirements. The Navarcles facility processes post-commercial and post-industrial films using modern installations designed to deliver consistent material properties and high end-product quality. Anviplas Spain has been operating since 1988, which means more than 35 years of experience in LDPE film recycling. The company employs around 70 people, who will become part of GreenDot’s European structure following the integration.

Expansion of capacity and operating reach

Combining Anviplas Spain’s long-standing know-how with GreenDot’s international commercial and operating network is expected to strengthen the group’s ability to secure feedstock, optimize cross-border logistics, and deliver European-made recyclates to the market at greater scale. According to the company, this step improves supply chain resilience at a time when Europe is seeking greater independence in critical materials and a faster transition to a circular economy model in plastics.

Laurent Auguste, CEO of GreenDot, said: "The integration of Anviplas Spain marks another milestone in our strategy to build a strong, interconnected European recycling platform. Their decades of expertise in LDPE film recycling, combined with our growing network, will allow us to accelerate the availability of high-quality recyclates and support Europe’s transition toward true circularity. Catalonia is an important industrial region, and we are committed to strengthening its role in Europe’s circular plastics economy."

Significance for the European market

GreenDot states that the acquisition strengthens the company’s presence in Southern Europe and reinforces its position as a supplier of high-quality recycled plastics. From the perspective of customers, converters and brand owners, the larger scale of operations is intended to support compliance with upcoming regulatory requirements concerning recycled content and supply stability. The company also underlines that the expansion of its plant network is meant to support the development of a more resilient and competitive European recycling market.
