Formnext Expo & Convention 2025 will return to Frankfurt from 18 to 21 November 2025, positioning the city as a key international hotspot for additive manufacturing. The organizer, Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH, has opened the online ticket shop, and visitors can benefit from an early-bird discount until 21 October. More than 800 companies led by the global AM elite are expected to exhibit. With a supporting program focused on practical deployments and cross-industry use cases, the event aims to further the industrialization of additive manufacturing and provide direct access to technologies, know-how and implementation partners.
“Especially in times when the competitive landscape is becoming increasingly challenging for many companies, additive manufacturing can make the decisive difference, by either making in-house production more efficient or improving products and the value they offer,” said Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President for Formnext at Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. “Companies from a wide range of industries will find the technology and knowledge this requires at Formnext, along with contacts that make it possible to launch new innovations with the help of AM,” added Christoph Stüker, also Vice President for Formnext at Mesago Messe Frankfurt.
The 2025 edition promises a high level of technological innovations and world premieres from exhibitors. Visitors can review key developments and applications first-hand and deepen their insights through a stage program, conferences, showcases and additional formats. Application areas highlighted include aviation and aerospace, mechanical and plant engineering, and jewelry and watches.
Partner country: Spain
Spain will be the 2025 partner country and will present a broad lineup of innovative exhibitors. Around 30 Spanish companies are expected, reflecting a dynamic and rapidly growing national AM industry that is particularly strong in systems, materials and R&D. Due to its geographic position, Spain also serves as a bridge between Europe and Latin America, and has traditionally been among the strongest exhibitor countries at Formnext.
Program highlights and stages
The 2025 supporting program will span three open stages and provide numerous opportunities for professional exchange. The Industry Stage will address overarching topics affecting the AM sector, including sustainability, the industrialization of AM and design for AM. On the Application Stage, AM users will share experiences and practical insights. Exhibitors’ innovations will be presented on the Technology Stage.
The established Discover3DPrinting seminars, organized with ACAM (Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing), will run daily on the Application Stage to help newcomers obtain an overview and key guidance. Deep-dive sessions are planned on large-format plastic 3D printing, the rise of DED technology, data-driven design and the scaling of 3D printing.
Awards and start-up focus
The Formnext Awards will recognize young innovative companies, sustainable business ideas and groundbreaking technologies across six categories. Public voting is scheduled to start at the beginning of October. Finalists will be showcased online ahead of the fair and in a special on-site exhibition, with winners to be announced at an award ceremony on 20 November 2025.
Start-ups will have dedicated exposure in the Start-up Area and at the Young Innovators booth, organized in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK). Companies in the Start-up Area will also take part in the Pitchnext event on 18 November 2025, offering further opportunities to connect with investors and partners.

Careers, showcases and summits
AM Jobs@Formnext will allow job seekers to explore career opportunities in the AM industry. In addition to a Job Wall, visitors can receive career counseling and take part in a professional photo shoot on 20 November. Showcases at Formnext 2025 will offer deeper insight into AM applications. The VDMA will present additive manufacturing in mechanical engineering, while the BE-AM showcase will demonstrate advanced construction-sector applications of 3D printing. The BE-AM Symposium on 19 November 2025 will address background information and future developments in this field.
One day before the start of the trade fair, the AM Innovation and Standards Summit@Formnext, organized by ASTM International, will take place on 17 November 2025. Further information and tickets are available at formnext.com/visitors.
