
In recent years, the presence of BMB on the national and international territory has made a great leap forward. The choice of pursuing high quality, preferring the electric or hybrid drive to the hydraulic one combined with the growing requests of customized machines as tailor-made products built meeting with the most demanding customers, have significantly contributed to the growth of the company and the affirmation of BMB brand.
BMB is daily facing with international competitors ten times bigger, which is not a concern that disturbs BMB but rather constitutes a further stimulus to improve and seek innovative solutions, as an Italian company of reference in the sector, recognized as such all over the world. This is evidenced by the important and continuous consolidation on the most advanced markets and the 4th production plant, already active since mid-2020, in full Covid-19 period.

However, BMB's goal is not a large-scale production, but the actual customers’ satisfaction with products fit for their needs. For many years BMB has been known for its prominent position in the world of packaging (including large containers and housewares), thin-walled containers in which BMB machines stand out for their velocity and robustness. All packaging items producers have tried BMB and very often they have never changed. But what BMB wants to convey to the market today is its dedication and experience focused on technical moulding, i.e. automotive, household appliances or medical sectors. Our image in technical moulding in general, or outside the packaging sector, wants to stand for the precision and performance characteristics of our electric or hybrid machines, as many transformers have now understood, but on which we want to insist more. To make you aware of BMB machines performance as concerns technical articles, we take as an example a machine currently on construction and destined to the production of bi-material components for vehicles.

We are talking about an 850 ton Hybrid machine with 2 injection group and a rotary table to facilitate over-injection on the component to be made. The model is eKW85Pi / 5500 Hybrid. This is a very high-tech product purchased by our important customer Tech-Pol based in Morro d’Alba, (Marche region). Tech-Pol, thanks to the technology used in the bi-material moulds and the close collaboration with BMB, emerges for a production that goes beyond the simple transformation of the resins. In this case, in fact, important brands, such as BMW, AUDI, etc, for years have entrusted Tech-Pol with the production of very special items to guarantee the necessary quality standards and reliability of the company; exactly as Tech-Pol did with BMB, relying on the high technology of the product and bringing forward together over the years solutions that can make a difference.
This machine, to be delivered shortly in Tech-Pol facility in Morro d'Alba, stands out for its characteristics of precision, overlapping of movements and perfect synchronism of the injection entrusted to the 2 hybrid units, respectively 5500 and 700 (Euromap classification). BMB's goal is to ensure the highest quality of the moulded product with the shortest possible cycles - this factor must always be the goal of every third parties manufacturer.

As is the case in the automotive sector, large distances between tie-bars and wide opening strokes are needed and the 850 ton BMB is fit to the purpose. In fact, there are various possibilities in the range, wherein usually 2 different platens s and 2 distances between tie-bars for each medium-large machine model. BMB offers the tailor-made suit based on the of the moulds, combining the clamping group with the most suitable injection group. All BMB IMMs are in fact designed by the clever combination between the clamping group and the injection group, according to the type of product to be manufactured. While automotive moulding normally requires large tie-bars distances and limited injection capacities, in the packaging sector, on the other hand, very huge numbers are required for very fast cycle times. With the flexible combination of injection units and clamping units, BMB is always able to offer the most perfectly calibrated and suitable product.

The main injector has an injection volume of 3573 cm3 and reaches specific pressures of 1600 kg/cm2. The platens completely machined in the BMB machine tools department, like all the rest of the heavy carpentry parts, do not have the T-slots, but only the Euromap holes for fixing the mould; in this way the platen rigidity is better preserved and, thanks to the positioning of the application point of the force at the centre of the moving platen by the KW Series toggle system, there is not the slightest deflection, not even at maximum efforts. This is another very important factor for those companies which operate in the automotive field and must guarantee very high production standards.
All electric drives are made with Torque motors and satellite roller recirculating screws, showing BMB's vision of superior quality sought in every detail. Other motion transfer systems could seem similar as they apparently produce the same effect, but the BMB choice comes from the distant 2002, when our first full electric machine seemed to have to go to the moon according to the technical choices made, but after twenty years they have proved successful and still practically unique on the market, as not easy to be implemented, but the result of long research, which has now become experience.
