Avient Corporation highlighted its ongoing partnership with the Grandes Cases de Embalagem (GCE) award as the program marked its 25th anniversary, bringing together packaging industry leaders from across Latin America. The award annually recognizes innovative packaging solutions that optimize design, materials and processes, driving improvements throughout the product chain. Avient contributed to this year’s edition and supported the creation of the trophy, reflecting its continued engagement with initiatives that promote innovation in packaging.
This year, the GCE award expanded its scope to encompass all of Latin America. For 25 years, the award focused on Brazil; its broader reach acknowledges the region’s growing importance in the global packaging sector. By opening participation to a wider geographic area, the award aims to tap a broader range of ideas and solutions, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing across borders to advance the industry.
To commemorate the expansion, Avient collaborated on a co-creation initiative centered on Latin American identity. Vinicius Lopes from Avient’s ColorWorks design team facilitated focus groups to identify a color that authentically captures the region’s spirit. The resulting hue is intended to embody Latin America’s cultural diversity and biodiversity while aligning with one of Avient’s ColorForward 2026 trends, "Carnival of Fuels", which emphasizes clean energy and mineral access.
Avient's perspective
“We were excited to be a part of the GCE award’s 25th anniversary celebrations and contribute to the trophy’s design,” said Raquel Morais, Business Development Manager at Avient. “This year marked a significant milestone as the award expanded beyond Brazil to include Latin America for the first time. Our co-creation process allowed us to tap into the essence of Latin America, resulting in a color that was both bold and meaningful. We're excited about the potential for this expanded award to generate new insights and drive meaningful change in the packaging industry across Latin America over time.”
