Arburg presents new Allrounder Trend and partners at K 2025

Arburg presents new Allrounder…

Arburg used K 2025, the global plastics trade fair, to present its range of solutions for sustainable plastics processing under the "All in! arburgSOLUTIONworld" concept and the arburgGREENworld pavilion. The exhibit combined new electric and high-end injection moulding machines, applications and digital offerings. Center stage was the world premiere of the electric Allrounder Trend, an addition aimed at standard applications. According to the company, the series is designed for quick setup, straightforward operation and maintenance, and energy-efficient, reliable production, with short delivery lead times of four weeks ex works. Visitor interest in the new platform was reported across regions. Dr Christoph Schumacher, Head of Global Marketing at Arburg, said: "K 2025 has fully lived up to its status as the world’s leading trade fair and has impressively demonstrated the global economic importance of the plastics market. Despite the volatile economic situation, sentiment was riding high and visitors flocked to our stand all day long. The 'K' is home for us. We are proud that we were once again able to present the Arburg brand to the plastics world with great success and demonstrate that we are investing even, or rather, especially, in challenging times and that we have answers to all of our customers’ questions and requirements with our integrative solution approach 'arburgSOLUTIONworld': Wir sind da!" The stand also highlighted developments created with partners and examples of circular economy practice.

Allrounder Trend targets standard applications

The electric Allrounder Trend expands Arburg’s portfolio in the standard segment. The machines are intended to produce standard injection moulded parts reliably and with high energy efficiency, while being easy to set up, operate and maintain. They can be ordered immediately, with clamping forces from 500 to 2,000 kN and injection units in s 100 to 800. The company highlighted delivery lead times of four weeks ex works and pricing positioned for the segment. At the stand, an Allrounder 1000 e Trend produced free-falling connectors for the electronics industry, and an Allrounder 1800 e Trend produced batches of 64 LSR seals. The latter parts were removed by a Multilift Select and deposited separately according to the respective cavities.

Arburg also presented the new Gestica lite control system. It features a robust industrial panel and is designed for remarkably easy, intuitive operation, including for non-specialists.

High-end applications with partners

As a solution partner for sustainable plastics processing, Arburg showcased several jointly developed projects and processes in the high-end segment:

  • A "NextGen Medical" production cell based on an Allrounder 570 A, developed with Sanofi, Hack and HB-Therm, demonstrated how early-stage optimisation can yield cost and energy benefits, with intelligent communication between machine and mould.
  • Together with Beck and Kebo, an electric Allrounder 520 A in cleanroom design produced centrifuge tubes, illustrating the benefits of functional IML components in medical technology. Demonstrators for autoinjectors with functional labels were also shown.
  • For packaging, thin-walled IML cups were produced on an electric Allrounder 720 A using injection compression moulding, achieving reductions in clamping force and energy consumption.
  • In cooperation with Leonhard Kurz, a new Allrounder 475 V vertical machine demonstrated back injection moulding of housings with decorative film using in-mould decoration for wireless car keys with high-quality surfaces.
  • A two-component Allrounder More 1800, using a 32-cavity mould from Polarform and hot runner technology from Hasko, produced a ready-to-use domino game. A Multilift V linear system and a cobot worked in tandem.
  • With mould partner Foboha, an Allrounder Cube 2000 presented efficient cube technology to produce two-colour closures. A space-saving suspended six-axis robot handled cycle time-neutral removal.

Arburggreenworld highlights circular economy examples

Arburg’s arburgGREENworld pavilion, supervised by trainees, guided visitors through maritime-themed water worlds to present sustainability topics along the recycling cycle and their relevance for the company and its customers. Commenting on the response, Dr Christoph Schumacher stated: "This made it clear that the topic has 'come of age' and arrived in the industry."

The pavilion programme was complemented by presentations from speakers from science and industry, providing additional context on circular economy approaches and their practical implementation.

Visitor magnet: At stand 13A13, Arburg presented itself as a sustainable full-service provider with its “All in! arburgSOLUTIONworld”. The extensive product portfolio was extremely well received by trade visitors from all over the world.
