The new maXYmos Analyzer (2850A) PC software from Kistler extends the usability of data acquired in joining and assembly processes. Measurement data recorded by the process monitoring systems of the maXYmos family, for example from assembly lines, can be efficiently analyzed, documented and evaluated. This makes it possible to derive data-based conclusions for production optimization, both during the ongoing process and in post-process analysis.
Assembly and joining techniques such as precision joining, press fitting, riveting, clinching and caulking are among the key operations in the automotive, aerospace, electronics and medical sectors as well as many other industries. The use of Kistler's electromechanical joining systems (servo presses), high-precision sensor technology and intelligent process monitoring enables efficient automation of these operations and their long-term optimization. Process monitoring systems from the maXYmos product family ensure that joining and assembly operations are carried out with the required precision, remain subject to quality control and support economical use of resources, which translates into productivity and production safety.
Force–displacement monitoring and data utilization
In many applications, such as joining a bearing to a shaft, it is essential to monitor the force–displacement relationship during assembly operations. The measurement curves recorded in the maXYmos system for each manufactured component form the basis for identifying irregularities in the process. To make better use of this data, for example for continuous production optimization, Kistler has developed the maXYmos Analyzer PC software.
As the final link in the measurement chain, maXYmos Analyzer enables fast and simple analysis of measurement curves from monitored production processes. This includes, among other things, force and displacement measurement data from assembly and joining operations. On the basis of a bundle of curves, deviations and trends can be detected and process stability can be assessed. For the selected curve set, statistical process control (SPC) parameters such as Cp and Cpk are automatically determined.
Visualization and evaluation of measurement curves
maXYmos Analyzer is based on the jBEAM measurement data analysis platform and has been adapted to the requirements of production optimization applications. The software allows users to zoom into selected curve sections, compare them, filter them and analyze them, both immediately after each production step and later in an overview.
During development, the focus was on transparency, intuitive operation and efficiency in production environments. The objective was to detect deviations from target values quickly and to reduce the number of nonconforming parts. The software enables interactive use of key performance indicators as well as statistical and trend analyses, thereby supporting a data-driven approach to production optimization.
Complete measurement chain with data analysis
maXYmos Analyzer is available as a standard license for use with the maXYmos NC system (for Kistler joining systems, from version 1.7) and with the process monitoring systems maXYmos TL (5877B, from version 1.7) and maXYmos BL (from version 5867C). A free trial version is also available for interested users.
The introduction of the maXYmos Analyzer (2850A) software completes Kistler's portfolio in the field of dynamic measurement technology for production optimization and process monitoring. Users now have access to a complete measurement chain for joining and assembly processes from a single source, comprising sensors, software and a matching electromechanical joining system in the form of a servo press.
