Tomra is expanding its portfolio of container return equipment by introducing the freestanding S2 Rugged Plus outdoor reverse vending machine to the Polish market. The solution is targeted at retailers who want to provide consumers with a convenient point for taking back deposit-bearing beverage containers while saving indoor store space. The unit is designed for year-round operation in variable weather conditions, and Poland will be the first market where this model appears.

The S2 Rugged Plus combines a rugged housing with features focused on uptime and shorter servicing times. The unit is resistant to rain, snow and sun, and the high-visibility display remains readable in full sunlight. Tomra Flow technology enables users to insert containers smoothly, continuously and safely, reducing waiting time. High-capacity bins reduce the frequency of staff interventions, and the modular design allows the unit to be configured in line with a store's growing needs, for example by adding a SoftDrop module for handling returnable glass bottles or a storage module to increase storage capacity.
