Weihai RuiMu Precision is restructuring its production strategy in response to changes in global manufacturing and is expanding its capacities on a large scale. The Chinese high-tech company has commissioned a new 12,000 m² production facility in Weihai, where more than 20 Wintec injection moulding machines from Engel form the core of the highly automated operations. With this investment, RuiMu aims to strengthen its position as a global supplier of demanding series products and to establish "Precision made in China" as a quality benchmark within international supply chains. The company is targeting customers in Europe, the USA, Japan and Korea and is placing particular emphasis on long-term equipment stability, process reliability and energy efficiency.
According to RuiMu, the strategic realignment reflects a broader shift in the perception and requirements of manufacturing in China. Xiankun Bi, Chairman of the Group, notes that in the past the focus of "Made in China" was predominantly on getting things done, with quality often in the background. In the current competitive environment, moving into the premium segment is seen as essential for future viability. As a result, RuiMu is investing specifically in greater value creation depth and in a machinery pool designed to meet high standards in terms of quality, efficiency and long service life. The selection of Wintec as the technological backbone of the plant is intended to support this repositioning.
Injection moulding portfolio as technological backbone
RuiMu’s machine park comprises several lines of Engel and Wintec injection moulding machines, configured for a broad application spectrum. The equipment includes all-electric Engel e-mac injection moulding machines with a clamping force of 1,800 kN, all-electric Wintec e-win machines with a clamping force of 3,100 kN, as well as Wintec t-win two-platen injection moulding machines with clamping forces between 4,500 and 18,000 kN. This combination is intended to enable flexible production of diverse components and moulded parts for international customers.
The manufacturing portfolio supplied from Weihai ranges from automotive lighting components to parts for printers and intelligent household appliances. With the different clamping force ranges, RuiMu can cover small to large moulds and a wide variety of shot weights. According to the company, this broad setup supports both high-volume standard components and more demanding applications where dimensional accuracy and repeatability are critical.
Technical Director De Dong describes the decision for Wintec as a logical one from RuiMu’s point of view. He emphasises that Wintec combines the technical DNA of Engel with what he calls an outstanding fast return on investment. In his assessment, the machines provide both product quality and economic value. Key features cited include high repeatability with deviations of less than 0.1 per cent, short cycle times, and a reported efficiency increase of 15 per cent combined with more than 20 per cent lower energy consumption compared with the company’s previous solutions. In addition, full real-time control of all process parameters is highlighted as a basis for stable and traceable production conditions.
Two-platen design and mould handling
RuiMu manufactures a wide range of products, which makes frequent mould changes part of daily operations in the Weihai facility. In this context, the company places particular importance on the Wintec t-win two-platen machines. Their large free mould space and generous daylight opening are used to shorten mould change times and to support the use of larger or multi-cavity tools without compromising accessibility.
According to RuiMu, these machine characteristics contribute to an increase in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), as non-productive set-up times can be reduced and the utilisation of the moulding cells can be improved. The company also points to its first Wintec machine, installed in 2018, which has been in continuous operation without limitations to date. RuiMu sees this operating history as evidence of the long-term stability and robustness of the technology, which is an important factor for amortisation periods and lifecycle costs in series production.
RuiMu is relying on injection-moulding machines from Wintec for the expansion of its plant in Weihai, which impress in series production with high cost-effectiveness, reliability and quality.
Digitalisation, control and process stability
Digitalisation of the injection moulding processes is based on the C3 control unit, which is used as the central element in all Wintec injection moulding cells at RuiMu. Operators can store process parameters at the push of a button and reproduce them precisely at a later time. This functionality is intended to support consistent start-up behaviour after mould changes and to reduce variations between production batches.
The ability to reliably recall validated parameter sets is designed to prevent reworking and to minimise quality fluctuations. At the same time, real-time monitoring and control of process parameters help to detect deviations at an early stage and to stabilise the process window. RuiMu associates this with reduced scrap, more stable cycle times and more predictable maintenance planning.
According to the company, Wintec’s support in the form of training, service and integration has been important in implementing complex high-volume production with high quality requirements. This includes both initial commissioning and the integration of the machines into the existing production and quality management systems. The aim is to ensure that the technical capabilities of the machines are fully utilised and that operators and maintenance teams are familiar with the control functions and diagnostic options.

Long-term orientation and capacity expansion
With the investment in Wintec injection moulding machines and the new production facility in Weihai, RuiMu is aligning its manufacturing strategy with a long-term perspective. In the company’s view, the combination of stability, precision and scalability is central to this approach. The machinery is expected to support further capacity expansion and the development of additional product lines without fundamental changes to the technical platform.
Xiankun Bi summarises this orientation with the statement: "We build for generations. The equipment must meet this standard, Wintec does that." For RuiMu, the current expansion step is therefore not only a capacity increase, but also a commitment to a defined quality level and process stability that is intended to be maintained over the long term in international supply relationships.
