New location for the Control System Center of Excellence for the MAAG Group

New location for the Control…

The demand for control systems is not only growing in the MAAG Group, smart automation solutions are in demand worldwide. To meet this demand, the control cabinet production moved to larger production halls at the Xanten site in Germany months ago. Today's move of colleagues from the software development, electrical design, sales and service departments from Kevelaer-Kervenheim to Xanten marks the successful completion of a long-planned relocation. At the new location, everyone benefits from modern working conditions, sufficient space and short distances. The new Director BU Control Systems, Markus Fritz is pleased: "Now we can continue to grow and successfully incorporate all the experience we have gained with machine manufacturers and end customers into new products." The assembly of MAAG underwater pelletizing systems has been bundled at the Grossostheim site as part of this move, in order to better serve the growing global demand there as well.

The former XanTec Steuerungs- und EDV-Technik GmbH - now Maag Germany GmbH - not only develops control systems, but also continues to drive the digitalization of modern production processes. The Center of Excellence was founded in 2020 to bundle the automation activities of the MAAG Group. It is THE partner when it comes to further exploiting the potential of Industry 4.0. The Maag Integration Platform for tracking sensor data on any mobile device, which was recently presented at the plastics trade fair in Dusseldorf, is just one development that has been driven forward.

Since the mid 1990s former XanTec has already been successful in process visualization and data acquisition of complex plants. Always closely associated with plastics processing companies, the specialists have developed standardized control systems in a modular system for pelletizing systems and extruders, and in 2019 for the first time also for MAAG pumps and screen changers, which play an important role in plastics production. The automation solutions optimize process control, which reduces costs and increases the quality of the end products.
