Grupa Recykl has started building a used tyre collection network in Lithuania. The project will be operated by the Lithuanian company APG, previously acquired by the Polish firm. Still this year, in cooperation with a network of tyre replacement points, transport companies and selective waste collection sites, several dozen containers for used tyres are to be deployed on the Lithuanian market. The company treats this project as the first stage of a broader foreign expansion. As the management board emphasizes, the Baltic states are seen as a promising direction for growth, while further investment opportunities that could support the continued increase in the value of the group are being analysed in parallel. Lithuania is intended to serve as a bridgehead for entering the remaining markets in the region and, in the longer term, Scandinavia as well.
Maciej Jasiewicz, President of the Management Board of Grupa Recykl, says that after the reorganization of APG and the alignment of its structures and operating principles with the standards in force within the group, as well as after investments in logistics and technical facilities, the company gained the capacity for the initial processing of collected tyres. As he notes, this has translated into better transport efficiency.
