GreenDot to present Systalen recycling at K 2025

GreenDot to present Systalen…

GreenDot Group will exhibit at K 2025 in Düsseldorf under the official motto "The Power of Plastics! Green – Smart – Responsible". The appearance coincides with the 35th anniversary of Der Grüne Punkt, the group’s best-known subsidiary. For more than three decades, Der Grüne Punkt has advanced plastics recycling in Germany, notably through Systalen, a premium PP and LDPE recyclate sourced from the yellow bag and yellow bin collection streams. By returning post-consumer packaging waste to high-quality packaging applications, the company closes material loops and supports resource conservation. Across the group, activities include design-for-recycling advisory services, strategic partnerships, international projects for the circular economy and initiatives to optimize municipal collection systems. To meet growing demand for high-quality recyclates, GreenDot invests in mechanical and chemical recycling infrastructure and integrates state-of-the-art sorting and processing systems to increase the availability of recycled polyolefins from household waste for high-quality products, including packaging with strict quality requirements, films, bottle-to-bottle and food-grade uses.

Live demonstration of Systalen processing

During the trade fair, Reifenhäuser will traditionally open its Troisdorf Technical Center for open house events. High-quality LDPE film for packaging purposes will be produced on site, allowing visitors to experience Systalen processing live and to speak directly with experts from Der Grüne Punkt. Appointments for the Technical Center can be arranged at the Reifenhäuser booth during the show.

Group activities and value chain focus

The GreenDot Group pursues strategic partnerships and provides consulting on recycling-friendly packaging design, supports international circular economy projects and works on improving municipal collection systems. Investments cover both mechanical and chemical recycling to broaden the supply of premium recyclates. By integrating advanced sorting and processing, GreenDot aims to increase the share of recycled polyolefins from household waste in applications with stringent quality demands.

Expanding polyolefin recyclability and supply

To strengthen the recyclability of polyolefins, GreenDot is expanding its strategic activities beyond PP and LDPE recycling in Germany. Sorting plants in Milan and Austria, including TriPlast, one of the most advanced facilities for light packaging waste worldwide, help secure a continuous stream of secondary raw materials for efficient recycling processes. In addition, cooperation with Forplast enables high-quality recycled HDPE suitable for bottle-to-bottle applications as well as for use in irrigation pipes and cable ducts in the construction sector.

Executive comment

"We are delighted to be actively shaping the future of plastics recycling together with our partners and customers at the K trade fair," said Laurent Auguste, CEO of GreenDot. "With innovative recycling solutions, the premium recyclate, and our diverse activities in consulting, partnerships, and international projects, we are making the vision of a closed-loop circular economy more tangible every day."
