Chinaplas 2026, held on 21–24 April 2026, once again confirmed its position as one of the most important meeting platforms for the global plastics industry. Dr. Boy GmbH&Co. KG, together with its Chinese representative Andeli Co., Ltd., considers its participation in the event successful. Visitors from various markets came to the company's stand, and the exhibit focused on compact and high-precision injection moulding technology. The manufacturer presented machines intended for applications requiring high accuracy, process repeatability and a small footprint, which, according to discussions held during the trade fair, is particularly important in the Chinese market. The company notes that visitors represented not only China, but also other markets in Asia, Europe and Australia, and that many meetings were project-related and concerned specific investment plans.
According to the exhibitor, many of the visitors were decision-makers, technical managers and engineers associated with the medical technology, electronics and precision injection moulding sectors. This visitor profile matched the scope of the solutions presented, as the stand featured two electric machines, the Boy XS E and the Boy 25 E, operating in applications that require very high precision in processing small parts. The live demonstrations were the central element of the presentation and were intended to show the practical capabilities of the machines in producing parts with very low weight while maintaining process stability and appropriate moulded part quality.
Machine presentations at the stand
The Boy XS E was used to present a medical application involving the production of a resorbable surgical clip weighing just 0.105 g. The company states that this application demonstrated the machine's strengths in micro injection moulding and the production of small parts, especially in terms of precision, repeatability and suitability for cleanroom operation.
The Boy 25 E, in turn, was used to demonstrate the production of high-precision small parts, including a tendon sheath screw for dispensing insulin cartridges, weighing only 0.093 g. In this case, the focus was on accuracy, process stability and the ability to process demanding materials.

Conclusions from market discussions
According to the company, discussions held during the trade fair confirmed a clear market trend. The traditional mass segment remains largely price-driven, but at the same time demand is growing for high-quality, reliable and energy-efficient machinery, particularly in sensitive sectors such as medical technology.
The overall market assessment remains cautiously optimistic. Rather than simply increasing production capacity, many companies are now focusing on technological upgrading in order to reduce waste and optimise production processes.
Technology directions and the role of compact design
According to the exhibitor, Chinaplas 2026 showed that the industry is currently being driven by issues such as miniaturisation and micro-precision, sustainable materials and the circular economy, as well as intelligent, data-driven production processes. The medical technology sector in particular is developing rapidly and places high demands on machine design and process reliability.
One of the main reasons for interest in Boy machines is said to be their compact design. According to the company, this feature offers significant benefits especially in the Chinese market, where efficient use of production space is important. Florian Schäfer, Team Leader / Export Project Manager, said: "A large market such as China requires machines with the smallest possible footprint to enable highly efficient production. With our Boy XS E, which requires only 0.87 m² of floor space, we were able to demonstrate this convincingly and convince many visitors of our concept."
Summary of the trade fair participation
In the company's assessment, its participation in the trade fair ended with a very good result. The manufacturer states that the event helped strengthen its position as a specialist in compact, high-precision injection moulding solutions and gather important information from the international market. CEO Xin Bingbin stated: "Chinaplas 2026 was a major success for Boy. The company was able to further strengthen its position as a specialist in compact, high-precision injection moulding solutions and gain valuable insights from the international market. Boy continues to see significant growth potential, particularly in the medical technology sector."
