Arburg to present Allrounder Trend at Interplas 2026

Arburg to present Allrounder…

From 2 to 4 June 2026, Arburg will present two electric Allrounder Trend injection moulding machines at Interplas in Birmingham, Hall 10, Stand L50. This will be the first public presentation of Arburg’s new standard machine series to a broad trade audience in the United Kingdom. The machine display will be accompanied by information on automation, digitalisation and sustainability, areas that the company identifies as key elements of its offering. Arburg emphasises that the new line is intended to respond to current needs in the British and Irish markets, especially in the context of energy costs, expectations for simpler operation and growing interest in automated solutions. As Steve Thomson, Managing Director of Arburg Ltd. since December 2025, notes, "These energy-efficient electric Allrounder Trend machines take centre stage in our trade fair presentation. They are arriving in the UK and Ireland at exactly the right time, when energy costs are continually rising." He also adds that the company is seeing significant interest in automation and will therefore present solutions in this area at the stand, while turnkey experts will answer questions from customers and prospective users.

The new electric Allrounder Trend machines are designed for standard applications across a wide range of industries. According to the manufacturer, they are intended to be available with short delivery times worldwide. Arburg also points to fast commissioning, intuitive operation and ease of maintenance. Low investment and operating costs are also presented as an important part of the offer. The manufacturer states that the high energy efficiency class 8+ according to Euromap 60.1 is intended to support the day-to-day profitability of plastics processing plants using injection moulding. At market launch, the series is to include four sizes with clamping forces from 500 to 2,000 kN. All Trend machines are equipped with the new Gestica lite control system, which is intended to offer an intuitive user interface and a clear dashboard.

The new Allrounder Trend machines have been configured specifically to meet current market needs: they are available at short notice, can be set up quickly, are exceptionally easy to operate and maintain, and investment and operating costs are low.

Exhibits at the stand

At Interplas 2026, one of the main themes of Arburg’s presentation will be sustainability. The company will demonstrate a 500 kN electric Allrounder 500 e Trend in operation in cooperation with partner Symbiotex, a manufacturer of high-performance biomaterials for injection moulding. This machine will produce a biodegradable golf tee made from ThermoSea material. This feedstock uses red seaweed from sustainably cultivated sources as a component, which makes the material 100% certified bio-based and certified home compostable at the end of its life. According to the company, these properties are achieved without compromising the performance and efficiency required by processors.

The second exhibit will be an electric Allrounder 1000 e Trend with a clamping force of 1,000 kN. This machine will produce reusable closure clips for food bags. The process will be operated automatically using a Multilift Select 8 linear robotic system.

Digitalisation and user support

Alongside the launch of the new Allrounder Trend series, Arburg also intends to highlight its digital solutions at the fair. The arburgXworld customer portal with related apps, the company’s ALS MES system and the Arburg Remote Service, ARS, will be presented on screens in a practical format. Visitors will be able to review the functional scope and practical benefits of these tools. According to the company, the arburgXworld portal makes it possible, among other things, to configure Allrounder injection moulding machines, retrieve machine information and order spare parts, using AI support, around the clock, seven days a week.

The manufacturer also draws attention to the Gestica lite control system. This system is intended to provide an intuitive user interface and a clear dashboard, which should make operation easier also for people who are not specialists in machine operation. Gestica lite has been equipped with a wide range of assistance functions. This is complemented by simplified navigation and search with AI functionality, as well as the ability to resolve problems quickly thanks to system-assisted work procedures.

Interplas as a platform for market contacts

Arburg sees Interplas as an important platform for building relationships with customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Steve Thomson believes that the scope of the portfolio on display matches the current needs of local customers. As he stresses, "We are particularly keen to connect with customers who, thanks to our new Allrounders, are ready to move to all-electric machines. We also offer our usual high level of user-friendliness, automation and, above all, high performance, quality and service at a competitive price. Everything here is properly aligned."
