Shanghai, Innovation and Investments in 2015 for P.E.T. Engineering

Shanghai, Innovation and Investments… 15 years in business, 2014 marked by important goals and a new year full of promises: these few words sum up the past, present and future of a small enterprise that, in a short span of time, has become a landmark for the design and industrialization of PET containers for the international leading beverage brands.

P.E.T. Engineering srl closed 2014 with a turnover of 7.5 million euros, consolidating the excellent results achieved in 2013, when the company recorded an amazing 45% increase over 2012.

With an increase by 45.3% over 2013, 20.5% of the company's sales come from China, a market the company has managed to penetrate, as the CEO Moreno Barel explains: "by the know-how, technical expertise and hardware we provide our clients with. The design of preforms and containers, together with the start-up and reliability of our solutions, enables us to propose our moulds at a higher price without being blocked at entry in a market which revolves around price".

Thanks to this important growth, the San Vendemiano-based company first attended the China Brew China Beverage, the most influential and famous trade fair for machines and services for the Asian beverage industry and then, in January 2015, after Moscow, they opened their second branch in the throbbing heart of Shanghai.

The keyword for the success of P.E.T. Engineering in 2014 was once again "Innovation". The company's ongoing commitment to research was recognised in Italy with the "Imprese per Innovazione – Andrea Pininfarina" award, with the San Vendemiano company being entered among the 20 most innovative companies in Italy alongside the great industrial names of our country.

Due to its continuous research on material and important partnerships with leading players in the packaging sector, P.E.T. Engineering also received the World Beverage Innovation Award in the "Best bottle in PET" category, with Devin – Crystal Line, a PET bottle with a premium appearance and imitation glass finish addressed to the HO.RE.CA. sector.

To better support the multidiscipline team work, with designers, engineers and researchers all working together on each single project, P.E.T. Engineering has decided to invest, not only in the purchase of state of the art machinery and software, but also in its own technology centre, with an investment of around 2.5 million euros which will provide the staff with new laboratories, larger prototype production and assembly areas, as well as relaxation areas with a fitted gym and practical and comfortable common areas for all the personnel to use.
