Moretto has opened a new branch in Querétaro under the name Moretto de Mexico, marking a further step in the company’s internationalisation strategy. The location complements five production plants and nine commercial offices, reinforcing a presence in more than 70 countries. Active in Mexico since 1998, the company aims to be closer to the local market and to provide more effective support and service to customers in the plastics sector. The subsidiary is positioned as a modern technological platform and a showcase for Moretto innovations, designed to deliver commercial support and qualified services in a demanding, fast changing market. “The launch of our new Mexican branch reflects our commitment to be closer to our customers and to fulfil their needs with solutions that truly match their requirements. We are excited about strengthening our presence in a dynamic, opportunity-rich market, delivering value to our local customers and improving support with an ever-more efficient service,” said Renato Moretto, president of the company.
Mexico is described as a growing market for machinery, equipment and moulds for the plastics and rubber sectors. According to the Mexican association Anipac, the plastics industry includes more than 4,000 companies and is forecast to grow around 3.5% in 2025. Automotive, packaging, construction and recycling are highlighted as key demand drivers. The benefits of nearshoring, together with the environment created by “Plan Mexico”, are cited as factors propelling further positive development over the coming years.
In 2024 the Mexican market delivered a positive performance for Moretto, with a 15% increase in sales compared with the previous year. The company notes this result reflects customer confidence in its portfolio, which includes solutions for feeding and conveying, dosing and blending, drying, granulation, temperature control, process cooling and storage. These systems can be integrated and managed via Mowis, an in-house developed integrated monitoring system designed to control the entire production chain.
Market context and outlook
Moretto states that the internationalisation process will enable it to pursue new business opportunities in strategic areas. The company targets the establishment of new technical and commercial relationships supported by more than 45 years of experience. With the Querétaro branch serving as a local platform for technology and service delivery, the company expects to strengthen responsiveness to Mexican market requirements across key sectors.
