Boy to showcase sustainable cup production at Equiplast 2026

Boy to showcase sustainable…

At this year’s Equiplast 2026, taking place from 2 to 5 June 2026 in Barcelona, Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG, together with its Spanish representative Centrotécnica, will present solutions for efficient and more sustainable plastics processing. Two injection moulding machines from the Boy portfolio will be shown at the booth, and the display will focus on combining machine technology with the use of more sustainable materials. The presentations will include live production of parts, making it possible to demonstrate machine performance under trade fair conditions and their suitability for short cycles and stable processes. According to the company, both showcased solutions are intended to address requirements for precision, energy efficiency and application flexibility.

On the Boy 20 E PRO, espresso cups will be produced live during the exhibition in cooperation with Alfarben. This application is intended to demonstrate the high precision and process stability of the compact machine, which has a footprint of just 1.8 m². The injection moulding machine is equipped with a servo drive and the Procan Alpha 4 control system. According to the information provided, the unit is characterised by low energy consumption and an attractive cost level, which is intended to translate into a wide range of possible applications.

At the same time, pen covers made of PP PHC 27 will be produced on the Boy 35 Electric. The manufacturer describes this machine as the smallest electromechanical injection moulding machine with a clamping force of 350 kN. The cycle time in the presented application is to be 16 seconds. Among the listed features of the unit are precise injection, high dynamics, short cycle times and a clean, lubricant-free mould mounting area. The machine is also equipped with a newly developed universal injection unit with patented back pressure measurement.

As Boy emphasises, the displayed applications are intended to exemplify the combination of innovative injection moulding technology and materials aligned with sustainability objectives. The trade fair presentation is meant to highlight both technical aspects, such as process stability and operating dynamics, and issues related to reducing energy consumption in plastics processing.

Marcos Duran, CEO, said: "As Boy’s official representative in Spain, Centrotécnica is proud to support the introduction of highly efficient and sustainable injection moulding solutions to the Spanish market. Our collaboration reflects our shared commitment to innovation, energy efficiency and the development of forward-looking applications. We look forward to welcoming visitors at Equiplast 2026 and demonstrating how Boy’s technology meets the evolving needs of our customers."

Centrotécnica and Boy will be present at Equiplast 2026 in Barcelona at booth C-70 in hall 3 at Fira de Barcelona.
