Avient to present its materials portfolio at InterPlas Thailand 2026

Avient to present its materials…

Avient Corporation has announced that it will present its portfolio at InterPlas Thailand 2026, to be held from June 17 to 20 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre, BITEC, in Bangkok. The company said it will showcase solutions in polymer colorants, additives and other material technologies developed to improve product aesthetics, performance parameters and support sustainability efforts. The scope of the presentation includes materials for several application segments, including transportation, healthcare, flexible packaging, color trends and solutions aimed at increasing the share of renewable and recycled raw materials. According to the company, technical experts will be available at the stand to discuss product design, material selection and process optimization.

Materials for transportation and healthcare

In the automotive area, Avient will present reSound REC TPE, formulations containing 55% post-consumer recycled, PCR, content. These materials are positioned as an alternative to conventional TPEs in vehicle interior applications such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning nozzles, interior mats and cup holders. The company states that they retain UV stability, low volatile organic compound emissions, low odor and reduced fogging.

OnFlex TPE formulations developed for cell pack cooling tubes will also be showcased. According to Avient, the solution provides high bond strength with PA12, improved compression set resistance, as well as ethanediol resistance and sealing performance. The company also indicates compliance with ISO 3384-1:2011 for TPE compression set and ISO 11359-2:1999 for linear thermal expansion.

In the medical segment, Avient plans to present NEU capabilities and NEUSoft thermoplastic polyurethanes. As stated, these are ultra-soft TPUs intended for short-term in vivo applications. The materials are to be available in custom colors and feature UV stability and barrier properties. The manufacturer also points to elasticity, abrasion and tear resistance, and high melt strength, which is important in catheter applications, including cardiovascular, intravenous and specialty segments.

A second group of healthcare solutions includes Mevopur Healthcare colorants and formulations, as well as Mevopur Healthcare functional additives. According to the company, they are manufactured across a global network of ISO 13485-compliant facilities and pre-tested against key regulatory requirements, including USP Class VI, ISO 10993, USP 661.1, European Pharmacopeia 3.1.2 and ICH Q3D. These solutions are intended to support identification, branding and polymer performance needs in medical devices, diagnostics and pharmaceutical packaging.

Flexible packaging and PFAS-free solutions

In the flexible packaging section, Avient will show Hiformer liquid additives for polyolefins. The portfolio includes polymer processing aids, antioxidants, slip additives and tackifier solutions. According to the company description, these additives can improve processing and film quality, while also supporting a higher share of post-industrial recycled, PIR, content, helping combine productivity requirements with environmental goals.

Cesa and Hiformer PFAS-free processing aids will also be presented. The company states that these solutions address regulatory and performance requirements, eliminate melt flow instabilities and reduce die build-up. As a result, they are intended to increase productivity and enable efficient throughput at low additive loading. At the same time, they should not interfere with other formulation components while retaining sealing and printing capability. They are offered both as solid additive concentrates and liquid concentrates.

Color trends and materials supporting recycling

Avient also announces the presentation of ColorForward 2027, its annual color forecasting guide. This guide is intended to indicate new design directions and support brands and designers in building palettes aligned with broader cultural and consumer changes.

Among the sustainability-oriented solutions will be colorant and additive systems for bottle-to-bottle recycling. The company states that these solutions are intended to support increased recycled content and improved mechanical properties of products. Examples listed include ColorMatrix Smartheat RHC and ColorMatrix rePrize IV Builder for PET, designed to increase recycled content and improve processing, ColorMatrix Ultimate UV390 Light Barrier for rPET, providing UV protection and extending product shelf life, as well as OnColor NIR Sortable colorants, which facilitate the detection and sorting of black and dark packaging in the recycling stream.

Also featured at the stand will be reSound BIO TPEs, containing 40% to 90% bio-based content, which according to the manufacturer helps reduce carbon footprint across a wide hardness range while offering performance characteristics comparable to conventional TPEs. The presentation will be complemented by Complēt and OnForce materials, that is, long-fiber reinforced thermoplastics designed for structural injection molding applications where lightweighting and metal replacement are required.
