New Braskem's investment Braskem begins operations at its new butadiene plant.

Braskem's new butadiene plant located in the Triunfo Petrochemical Complex in the state of Rio Grande do Sul entered the pre-operational phase, which marks the start up of operations at the plant 50 days ahead of the date initially announced by Braskem.

The product, which is used to make tires and rubber products in general, was specified on Tuesday (June 12), which means it is already has met the standards required for its sale.

The new plant, which has production capacity of 103 kton/year, is starting its operations 14 months after construction began. The plant's construction generated 1,800 jobs. Total investment in the project was R$300 million. The unit is already operating at full production capacity and is receiving the final touches, which involves painting and finishing works. The unit will be formally inaugurated next month.
