OFS recycling nozzle type RDS for technical and reinforced materials

Due to its optimal rheological design, the RDS type OFS nozzle is perfect for processing technical plastics. The melt channel and material transitions are properly designed to avoid flow shadows, corners or impact edges. This also makes it possible to process materials that are sensitive to friction and shear, as well as reinforced materials. To extend service life, an anti-wear coating is available as an option to minimize wear
abrasive and corrosive.

OFS recycling nozzle type RDSF for unreinforced standard materials

The RDSF OFS recycling nozzle is suitable for processing all standard, unreinforced plastics (e.g. PE, PP, ABS, PA). The nozzle is not suitable for processing plastics that are sensitive to heat and shear (e.g. POM, PVS, PC). Due to the special design of the filter cartridge, the nozzles have a large filtration surface in relation to the nozzle dimensions.

The issue of a circular economy is becoming increasingly important in the injection molding sector. Political and social pressure on the plastics processing industry is growing. Processors face the challenge of maximizing the percentage of recyclates. Due to the associated changing material properties, the requirements in the injection molding process often change. In addition to the parameters that need to be adjusted, undefined foreign bodies or non-homogeneous alloy are common factors accompanying material changes.

With almost 40 years of experience in melt filtration and thermoplastic elastomer homogenization, OFS has developed a nozzle that ensures foreign body filtration and optimal melt mixing. OFS nozzles for recycling pave the way to a sustainable, circular economy and also enable higher process reliability and cost reduction in the injection molding process.
The filter insert protects the hot runner or injection mold inlet from foreign objects. The integrated mixing insert ensures optimal homogenization of the melt.
In addition to the screw diameter, the nozzle size depends on the existing gating system, the material being processed, its melt flow rate, flow rate and current pressure conditions.
