The announcement follows the finalization of its acquisition from SABIC’s Engineering Thermoplastics business by Mutares SE & Co. KGaA. The new company is based on decades of materials innovation, manufacturing experience and application expertise. It employs approximately 2,800 people and operates an integrated manufacturing, technical and commercial network across Europe and the Americas, supporting customers in the regions where they conduct business. According to the company, the launch is intended to open a new stage in engineering thermoplastics innovation, with a stronger focus on collaboration with customers, suppliers and partners. NexPoint said it will continue to provide established products, technical expertise and support without disruption to ongoing operations, while increasing business agility and streamlining decision making.
Portfolio of engineering thermoplastics
NexPoint offers a broad portfolio of engineering thermoplastics, including Lexan polycarbonate (PC), Cycolac acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and Valox polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resins and blends. These material solutions are specified for demanding applications in the automotive, healthcare, electrical and electronics, building and construction, consumer and industrial markets.
The company’s broader portfolio is anchored by product brands including Lexan, Valox, Xenoy, Cycoloy and Cycolac resins and blends. NexPoint positions its activities around local supply, materials expertise and close cooperation with customers using engineering thermoplastics.
Standalone structure after separation from SABIC
The name NexPoint reflects the company’s stated objective of providing support at the point where customers require collaboration, materials knowledge and practical solutions for their applications. As a standalone company, NexPoint said it is bringing decision making closer to customers, with the aim of helping them move faster, solve more complex problems and reduce risk.

NexPoint was formerly part of SABIC’s Engineering Thermoplastics business and now operates as a standalone company within the Chemicals & Materials portfolio of Mutares SE & Co. KGaA.
