New CEO and COO for battenfeld-cincinnati China and new Head of Global Sourcing for the battenfeld-cincinnati groupIn March 2015, two industry experts have joined the battenfeld-cincinnati management team. Mr Toni Bernards was confirmed as CEO and Mr Bruce Lamont as COO of battenfeld-cincinnati’s Chinese subsidiary. In addition, Mr Bernards will also serve as Head of Global Sourcing for the battenfeld-cincinnati group. Mr Bernards (55) was born in Germany and Mr Lamont (56) in Scotland; both of them have held a variety of similar posts and have worked in China for a long time.
"We are excited to have Mr Bernards and Mr Lamont on board to strengthen our team. We are sure that their knowledge and experience will help us to expand our market share in Asia and be a benefit both to our local subsidiary and the group as whole," says Gerold Schley, CEO of the battenfeld-cincinnati group.
battenfeld-cincinnati China has been successful with a portfolio of customized extrusion solutions for the Chinese market. They are produced locally using proven European components for high process security, long service life, excellent product quality and low operating costs.
Mr Bernards explains: "We have a strong position in the market and an experienced team of engineers and sales people. The market situation is becoming more difficult as overall growth rates in China decrease. However, last year, 75% of customers ordering with us were new customers that chose our machines for their quality and long life-time. This is a good basis from which we will continue to improve our products and services, both for local Chinese customers as well as customers in Asia and other regions."
