More Cutting-Edge Technology Highlights for ASEANPLAS

In addition to highlights on the main show floor, a must-see for visitors is the ASEAN Plastics Technology Showcase, being held for the second time following on from its successful debut at ASEANPLAS 2005. A new corner added to the showcase is Materials for Medical Applications. The showcase will feature a display of low-pressure plasma for surface modification of plastics from Europlasma NV for cleaning, etching, activation and polymerization applications, as well as an introduction to radio frequency identification (RFID) from SIMTech.

ASEANPLAS will also coincide with the Asian Plastics Forum (APF) on May 27, which will bring representatives from plastics associations throughout Asia together at a high-level summit that will discuss issues of relevance to the plastics processing industry.

Moreover, a two-day conference starting May 27 focusing on Innovations in Injection Moulding Technology and organized by The Chatsworth Group also adds more value to a visit to ASEANPLAS. Confirmed presentations include New Innovative Processing Technologies for Polycarbonate and its Blends from Bayer, MaterialScience, Polymer Micro Moulding Process for MEMS Applications from Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology, Laser Direct Structuring (LDS) Materials for Moulded Interconnect Devices from Lanxess, Fundamentals of Decoupled Moulding from RJG, Nano-Moulding Technology - Strong Adhesion of Metal and Plastics by Injection Moulding from TaiseiPlas, and Lexan DMX PC Film for Insert Mould Decoration from SABIC Innovative Plastics. The Chatsworth Group is also organizing a two-day intensive Training Course on Plastics Technology together with partner enys international on 28 and 29 May 2008.

ASEANPLAS 2008 will open its doors from 26 to 28 May 2008 at Singapore Expo. Admission is free and restricted to trade visitors and professionals only. The exhibition hours are from 10.00am to 6.00pm 26 to 28 May and from 10.00am to 5.00pm 29 May 2008.

ASEANPLAS is a project by the ASEAN Federation of Plastic Industries (AFPI) and hosted by the Singapore Plastic Industry Association. It is endorsed by the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau as an Approved International Trade Fair and supported by the European Committee of Machinery Manufacturers for the Plastics and Rubber Industries (EUROMAP), and K Düsseldorf, the world`s leading plastic and rubber trade fair.
