Klöckner Pentaplast acquires PP and PS mono- and multi-layer rigid films from AMB

Klöckner Pentaplast acquires… The Klöckner Pentaplast Group announced that it has acquired the polypropylene (PP) and polystyrene (PS) mono- and multi-layer rigid films commercial activities from AMB s.r.l. (San Daniele del Fruili, Italy) for an undisclosed sum.

PP and PS mono- and multi-layer rigid films are used primarily in food and thermoforming applications.

AMB will continue to operate the San Daniele del Fruili, Italy, facility for the production of its other product lines. “We are excited about the opportunity to work with AMB management and its customers to facilitate a smooth transition of the PP and PS mono- and multi-layer films commercial activities,” stated Giles Peacock, Vice President, Packaging Business Unit, Klöckner Pentaplast/Europe. He adds, “For Klöckner Pentaplast, this investment supports our strategic growth plan for 2011 and
further demonstrates our continued commitment to servicing our core markets and customers.”

Bruno Marin, AMB’s CEO, says “The transaction is strategic for AMB. It will enable AMB to
focus on its other product lines. We are confident that customers will be well serviced by Klöckner Pentaplast, the leading global rigid film producer with over 40 years of manufacturing experience.”
