Husky to open new facility in Japan

Husky Injection Molding Systems announced additional investment in its industry leading services and sales network with a new, expanded customer technical center that will open in Minami Machida, Japan.

- This new facility will allow us to better meet the increasing demands of new and existing customers - said Karl-Heinz Hoefert, Vice President of Service and Sales for Husky in Southeast Asia, Korea and Japan.

The expansion will establish an increased local presence and serve as Husky`s Japanese headquarters. This will double the space available at the current facility, allowing Husky to improve customer support and better react to market needs while reducing lead times. The facility will be located two kilometers from Husky`s existing Yokohama center and will focus on: PET sales support and mold refurbishing; hot runner assembly, maintenance and sales support; machine and technology demonstrations; customer training.

- It will give us the opportunity to offer increased support capabilities to the growing Japanese market, especially beverage packaging customers - said Gerardo Chiaia, President of Husky Asia Pacific. - We can now offer state-of-the-art mold refurbishing capabilities and improved life cycle management programs closer to our customers` manufacturing facilities.

Husky has a long track record in Japan, having opened its first mold manufacturing facility in the country in 1971. In 1996, Husky established the Yokohama Technical Center to conduct product demonstrations and customer technical training. The Minami Machida location further demonstrates Husky`s strong commitment to the Japanese market and Asia Pacific overall.
