Nine machines of the new launched series BOY XS has been introduced at K 2010. These machines can produce micro and small parts with injection volumes between 0,1 und 8,0 cm³ in a completely automatic, precise and highly efficient way.
BOY XS was available as horizontal machine and insert moulding machine. The installation surface is only 0,8 or 0,6 m². Thus the machine is actually as compact as a table machine, but it has all the functions of bigger machines including the control system Procan ALPHA. It is suitable for the hard industrial continuous running use. BOY XS offers all the economical advantages in order to be introduced with one-mould devices instead of bigger machines with multiple moulds devices.
At K 2010 BOY XS introduced itself as a ultra compact multitalented machine with many interesting applications. There was an excellent integration in the foreground between peripheral devices and handling equipments in the shown BOY XS. Without a necessarily added surface the peripheral devices for drying, conveying and colouring were placed to spare space.
Besides there was a new control device on BOY XS made on purpose. In addition to the functions ‘Take pieces’ or ‘to suck’ everyone can also introduce parts into the mould.
The cleanroom application on a BOY XS is not only visually different from traditional uses. The automatic injection moulding machine, completely suitable for cleanroom applications, assures a production of parts according to the cleanroom standards class ISO 14644-1 (that corresponds to the previous classification class 6 / 1000). Micro-parts from biomedical engineering with injection volumes under 0,1 cm³ are produced with sprueless injection.
The processing ability of different materials such as thermoplastics, thermosets, elastomers, liquid silicone rubber (LSR), MIM (metal injection moulding), hot melt, etc. prove the versatility of the BOY XS series.
Another focus of the exhibited BOY machines at the K 2010 was the machines of the BOY E-series. These machines have a much lower energy requirement, very high precision and they move more dynamically and quickly. The noise produced can be considerably reduced.
The production of thermoset parts showed on a BOY 22 A (220 kN clamping force). The BOY 22 A is a highly mature product, that has been present for decades in the production program of the injection moulding machines manufacturer in almost unchanged way.
Another speciality of BOY are the insert moulding machines. On every single BOY XS V and BOY 35 VV interesting uses of the insert moulding parts will be shown. Through the inferior fixed clamping platen the sliding of the inserted parts during the closing process is avoided. Other advantages are the free accessibility to the mould and the possibility of placing automation equipments on the machine frame while sparing space.
