EuCIA, EuPC and ECRC sign… EuCIA, EuPC and ECRC sign memorandum of understanding leading European industry organisations pledge to foster cooperation on Composite Recycling and Sustainability.

The European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA), the European Plastics Converters (EuPC) and the European Composite Recycling Services Company (ECRC) signed end of June a memorandum of understanding to lead collaboration among the three bodies on recycling and sustainability of Composites industry at the European level.

Mr. Fons Harbers, Chairman ECRC, Alexandre Dangis, Managing Director EuPC and Volker Fritz, EuCIA President signed the agreement at EuPC offices in Brussels. The agreement highlights two main pillars to be pursued by the three organisations:
- setting the foundation of a Sector Group under EuCIA umbrella, integrated into EuPC. The Sector Group will operate as EuCIA Recycling & Sustainability Platform of the composites industry,
- fostering cooperation on recycling & sustainability at European level, while enforcing the common voice and position of composites industry on environmental issues.

“It is our goal to transfer this common message to the EU legislators and contribute to a European balanced business environment for the industry” noted Fritz.

Harbers said: ”The cooperation agreement supports the European composites industry on recycling by having one voice. It brings together industry players in the composites value chain under a common Platform to define and decide on common strategies for the industry while highlighting our commitment to sustainability of this sector”.

Dangis noted: “The composites industry is creating these synergies on sustainability at the right time in Europe. EU legislators are keen to learn more about the composites recycling possibilities in view of a more resource efficient future for Europe. EuPC welcomes this broad knowledge based cooperation on recycling for the European industry”.

Fritz added: “The agreement shows that the composites industry is moving into the right direction and is committed to sustainability. Reunited under EuCIA and delivering on environmental matters, the composites industry will be stronger”.
