North Thin Ply Technology (NTPT) will be showcasing its lightweight prepreg materials for high-performance composite applications in the marine, motorsports, industrial, aerospace, sports and luxury goods sectors at the Kompozyt-Expo Trade Fair in Kraków on 25-26 November.
The company's main production facility in located in Czechowice-Dziedzice, southern Poland.
NTPT develops and produces a wide range of prepreg materials in carbon, glass and other fibres, including unidirectional (UD) tapes in weights of 15-300 g/m2. These thin ply UD prepregs offer improved mechanical performance as the thinner plies enhance wet-out of even the smallest filaments in the reinforcement. Consistent and controlled resin/fibre distribution produces a more homogenous composite material with significantly improved tensile and compressive properties.
NTPT also manufactures custom 2D multiaxial prepreg preforms using automated tape laying (ATL) equipment, which result in savings in both materials and labour costs. The fibre orientation of each ply can be selected to offer the optimum performance in the final structure without being constrained by weaving techniques. These multiaxial preforms are also available as cured, machineable blocks. In addition, the company offers a range of cost effective ATL machines so that customers can produce 2D preforms in-house.
Highly uniform, high performance composite tubes, which are used in applications such as golf shafts, fishing rods and automotive drive shafts, are also available.
