Sanner invests in Hungarian plant site

Sanner invests in Hungarian… Sanner GmbH, a manufacturer of high-quality plastic packaging components for pharmaceutical, medical, and healthcare products, recently completed the expansion of its plant in Budapest.

The sizeable investment aimed at developing the IT infrastructure and modernizing production systems at the company's site in Hungary. The main objective focused on increasing the quality and efficiency of the manufacturing facility and optimizing cooperation with the parent company in Germany. New management team members were also added at Sanner Hungary in response to the increasing order volume in Eastern Europe leading to further growth.

Packaging specialist Sanner invested over a million euros in the modernization and optimization of production facilities and IT infrastructure at its plant in Budapest. The integration of a Guardus MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and a SAP business management solution will improve control and monitoring of production, service & maintenance, and quality management. This ensures smoother production operations in Hungary and improves networking with company headquarters in Bensheim, Germany.

The new IT structure guarantees end-to-end product traceability and supports centralized complaint and response management. Sanner CEO Holger Frank explains the company's quality strategy: "We follow the 'Made in Germany principle' at all of our manufacturing facilities. This requires us to continuously invest in our plant sites."

Sanner centralized sales in 2010 to improve customer service in Europe. Since then, European sales operations have been concentrated in Bensheim where customers are supported by a multilingual team of experts. This reorganization increased flexibility and improved customer communications and services.

As a contract manufacturing plant, Sanner Hungary is ideal for customers who have projects with medium-size lots and products that require manual assembly steps. "Our production operations in Hungary are assembly-focused. This is something that clearly distinguishes us from our competitors," says Holger Frank. For example, a water filter with 16 different components is currently being manufactured in Hungary.

This requires a highly skilled, well-coordinated team. Sanner Hungary currently employs 100 highly trained professionals. These workers primarily produce desiccant closures and tubes for tablets and capsules. Sanner manufactures closures with bellow spacers exclusively at the Hungarian plant. With its wide range of injection and blow molding systems, assembly and filling lines, Sanner Hungary quickly responds to customer needs.
