The cutting knife is made of dedicated tool steel. It has medium hardness.

The heat treatment process combines strength and wear resistance in a balanced ratio. The knife is hardened throughout its entire volume, which means it will wear evenly throughout its service life.

Welding or additional heat treatment should be avoided. Such actions may affect the metal grain structure and seriously weaken the material properties, which may later lead to knife cracking and machine damage.
