Self-Healing Polymers 2018

Self-Healing Polymers is a brand-new conference from plastic industry experts AMI. The two-day conference will explore the fast-emerging world of polymeric materials designed to detect damage and repair themselves without human intervention.  The event will be held at the Hilton Kensington in London, UK on 8-9 October 2018.

Interest in self-healing materials is being fuelled by the desire to extend the lifetime and safety of products and components in industries as diverse as the automotive, aviation, medical, electrical, electronic, construction, infrastructure, and oil & gas sectors.

The conference will present the most recent breakthroughs in mechanisms and materials including polymers, elastomers, composites and coatings utilising capsule-based, vascular or intrinsic systems, to restore material functionalities in response to material fatigue, impact damage, puncture, and corrosion. The comprehensive programme will also look at the commercialisation of technologies and opportunities in real world applications.
