Applications and properties:
Basic Violet 10 is a light green, glittering, fine crystalline powder soluble in water and ethanol, soluble in cellosolve, and slightly soluble in acetone. It is mainly used in the paper industry, including waxed paper, writing paper and glazed paper.
It reacts with phosphotungstic acid to form a precipitating agent used in the production of paints and pigments. It can also be used for dyeing linen, straw and leather products.
