Flexpol invests in Poland

Flexpol invests in Poland Polish packaging film producer Flexpol is reported to be planning an investment of nearly €13m in a project to manufacture novel polyolefin BOPE (biaxially oriented polyethylene) film products.

Flexpol, a producer of BOPP films based in Plock, Poland, is also said to be undertaking a major modernisation and expansion of its plant in Plock.

The scheme to introduce the BOPE manufacture is expected to create at least 30 new jobs and is scheduled to be launched late next year (2011).

Both Flexpol projects involve the introduction of new technology which has been utilised in Poland for less than a year. This means the company will qualify for additional funding from the EU on top of financial incentive assistance in the Polish special economic zone.
The company already manufactures products including its three-layer ‘Bifol’ BOPP and, at the beginning of 2007, launched a modern line to produce its strong five-layer cast PP film ‘Quintex’, used as packaging for bread, vegetables, fruits and textiles.

Flexpol is part of Supravis Group a leading manufacturer of plastics packaging materials in Central and Eastern European markets. It has achieved an annual profit of €60m and has other separate subsidiaries in Hungary and Slovakia.
