Chemours and Safic-Alcan expand distribution agreement

Chemours and Safic-Alcan expand… Chemours International Operations Sàrl, a global chemistry company with leading market positions in titanium technologies, fluoroproducts and chemical solutions announced today that it agreed with Safic-Alcan, Puteaux/France, to expand their long-standing distribution agreement for Viton fluoroelastomers and Viton FreeFlow processing aids to the whole EMEA region. This expanded distribution agreement will become effective on April 1st, 2018.

“We are delighted to extend our long term partnership with Chemours to the whole EMEA region. This is a great opportunity for the Safic-Alcan group to offer on a larger scale this state-of-the-art product range to our customers,” stated Philippe Combette, CEO of Safic-Alcan.

Marcel Van Den Noort, Global Business Director, expressed how significant this move is: “We value our strategic relationship with Safic-Alcan who has played an essential role in enhancing customer services in the rubber industry. We are convinced that our customers will benefit from this change.”

Viton fluoroelastomers are high-performance elastomers with good heat and chemical resistance. Benefits include long term heat resistance in air up to 200ºC, and short term resistance up to 260ºC, low permeation for gasoline and other fuels, longer seal life and resistance to aggressive chemicals. Typical fields of application include automotive, aerospace, chemical and hydrocarbon processing.

Viton FreeFlow stands for a family of processing aids for the extrusion of films or wire and cable harnesses. They help reduce die build-up, allowing processing to continue with consistent surface finish, without impact on properties or performance.
