The Ming Wei Group's Strategy for Dalang Factory
Prosperity through Adversity:The Ming Wei Group's Strategy for Dalang Factory
Based on its philosophy of integrity and responsibility, the Ming Wei Group, led by Group Chairman Liu Mingchuang, has maintained steady growth since 2000. Its expansion has included the establishment of four factories and after-sales centers in Taiwan, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Shandong. The group has also formed alliances with 12 international after-sales centers and partners, including MAXXIS International Strategic Alliance. Ming Wei Group is currently enacting plans to build a factory in Dalang Town, Dongguan.
Despite the Group's success in Mainland China, the company has had to contend with shortages in the supply of various products and services and a production area that is too small. For this reason, Mr. Liu, the Chairman of Ming Wei Group, is now determined to realize plans for a long-awaited factory. Chen Junji, General Manager of Shanghai Yongjinda, will oversee the construction of the new plant.
Dalang has good transport links and is well connected to suppliers of electronics parts in nearby towns. The new plant, which will be called Mingwei Machinery (Dongguan),will be located in the Fumin Industry Zone of Dalang. It will cover an area of 25,000 sqm. Construction is set to start in December 2010 and is expected to be complete by August 2011. The new plant will produce 15 – 30 lines of flexographic in-line printers each year. Additionally, gluing in-line machines with multi-printing functions and single boards will also be manufactured. The plant will have a projected turnover of RMB 300 million (USD 45.1 million) in 2012, which will rise to RMB 400 million (USD 60.1 million) by 2013.
Of the total area, 60% will be workshops and offices. The other 40% will be given over to green landscapes and operations. There will also be five buildings, one for each area of production. Two areas will be for corrugated cardboard machine assembly lines, able to produce five to six production lines at a time. Another two areas will be for printer machine assembly. Here, 10 printers or five production lines will be in operation at a time. Additionally, there will be an exclusive office for materials management, with the capacity to hold 100 workers.
Outside the work areas, there will be a five-storey office building. The first, second, and third storeys will accommodate management and administrative staff. The fourth and fifth storeys will include two small customer reception rooms and a large conference room where over 100 people will be able to undergo training. Large groups of visitors will also be received here. Each of these rooms will be kitted out with the latest audio-visual equipment. The dormitory area will be separate from the work area. This green-colored housing area also has nearby sports facilities which staff will be able to enjoy.
The Dalang factory will be the Ming Wei Group's Mainland China HQ. It will use advanced technologies from its cooperative partners, MAXXIS International Strategic Alliance in Europe as well as technologies from America and Japan. The factory will also make products that can be sold at reasonable prices and provide premium pre-sale, in-sale, and after-sale services. It will continuously develop new products to serve customers in the Chinese Mainland.
"In such a competitive environment, the Ming Wei Group recognizes that the way to remain competitive is to constantly change with the times, conceptualize new strategies and put them into action", said Chen Junji. Echoing these sentiments, Liu Mingchuang, Chairman of the Ming Wei Group said, "If we approach every challenge with great heart, we can overcome it. Forging ahead in such a competitive environment, Ming Wei Group plans to construct a new plant, which we believe will be the highlight of the printing equipment manufacturing industry's calendar next year." Mr. Liu continued, "SinoCorrugated is the ideal marketing platform for manufacturers like us. We are very much looking forward to meeting many industry professionals on-site and updating them on our newly released products and technologies at SinoCorrugated 2011."
