Indian Printing Industry on the Rise
The Indian market has massive potential due to its rapidly growing printing industry. In 2006, the country’s printing industry achieved an output value of USD 12.1 billion, a figure that is forecast to increase to USD 30 billion by 2015 – a growth rate of 147% in 10 years. It is estimated that between 2011 and 2016, India’s printing industry will continue to grow at an annual rate of 6%, raising its ranking in the worldwide printing market to fifth place.
Representatives from Reed Exhibitions, organizers of SinoFoldingCarton 2014, recently completed a one-week promotional tour in New Delhi, during which time they had a meeting with Kamal Chopra, Secretary General of North India Printing Association (NIPA) and discussed the opportunities for developing the printing industries in China and India.
Mr. Chopra informed the Reed delegation of the substantial number of enterprises, factories and workshops that are engaged in India’s printing industry, and how the number of family-owned workshops has soared in recent years. There are currently in the region of 200,000 – 250,000 printing enterprises in India, 90% of which are family-owned workshops or small businesses. The majority of the large enterprises are located in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. North India holds an impressive one-third of the country’s printing market, which makes them the most prominent players in India.
Upon hearing that the 2014 edition of SinoFoldingCarton will be held simultaneously with SinoCorrugated South 2014 in an exhibition area spanning 60,000 sqm, a vast increase to the scale of previous events, Mr. Chopra confirmed his support for SinoFoldingCarton by affirming it as one of the top events within the post-printing manufacturing industry. He also guaranteed NIPA’s continued support in the form of sending organized delegations to attend the exhibition.
The feedback from India’s folding carton manufacturers in response to news of the event was also very impressive. A large number expressed their intention to visit the exhibition in 2014, recognizing the fact that dial showcases will a great opportunity to gain sharp market insights into China’s folding carton industry and promote the mutual development of the printing industries in both India and China.
SinoFoldingCartonwill be held alongside SinoCorrugated South 2014 from April 10 – 12 at Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center, Houjie, Dongguan. Demand for exhibition space has been highly enthusiastic, surpassing all expectations. The exhibition area within the third hall has already sold out and an additional three halls have been organized to meet the high demand for exhibition space, making the total area of the event 60,000 sqm.
