Having endured the effects of the global financial crisis that began in 2008, the European debt crisis which emerged in 2009 and the Japanese tsunami of 2011, the world economy is finally on the road to gradual recovery. At the same time, market demand for paper packaging products represented by corrugated packaging has continued to grow. Nevertheless, corrugated packaging still faces many challenges: overcapacity, lack of innovation, controlling production costs and talent cultivation among them. With a forward-looking vision, SinoCorrugated South 2014 will bear the heavy responsibility of helping the industry to thrive once more.
In 2013, the world economy maintained a slow growth pattern and under these circumstances, global packaging has continued to grow steadily. Judging from the current situation and development trends, in the next few years, the macro economy will recover gradually and the global financial situation will improve. In 2012, the total output value of global packaging was USD 799 billion. That figure is expected to reach USD 824 billion in 2013. Smithers Pira, a renowned market research institute for the packaging and printing industry, predicts that in the next five years, global packaging will maintain an annual growth rate of 4% and the industry’s total output value will reach USD 1 trillion in 2018.

As corrugated boxes represent the largest branch of packaging, the rapid development of this sector is very impressive. According to forecasts by the International Corrugated Case Association (ICCA), the global corrugated industry will maintain a 5% growth rate between 2013 and 2016. China and SE Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, will see growth of around 10%; India is expected to see a rate of 12%. The size and growth rate in these markets far exceeds those of other markets.

In recent years, SinoCorrugated South has particularly valued the tremendous development potential of the Chinese and SE Asian markets. The hope is to bring together professionals of the corrugated industries in these two regions, using the exhibition as a platform to promote international exchange, share knowledge and highlight market trends. This will make it the most powerful event for Asia-Pacific’s corrugated packaging manufacturing industry.

SinoFoldingCarton will be held alongside SinoCorrugated South from April 10–12, 2014, at Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center in Houjie, Dongguan. Demand for exhibition booths has been enthusiastic, surpassing all expectations – to the extent that exhibition space in the third hall has already sold out. The event has therefore been expanded across an additional three halls (Halls 4, 5 and 6), making the total area 60,000 sqm. The exhibition will certainly be the largest, most professionally organized and influential corrugated trade fair of the year.

SinoCorrugated South 2014 is Asia-Pacific's leading trade show for the global corrugated manufacturing industry. The event features the latest, most innovative corrugated equipment and consumables on the market. As a sourcing platform for manufacturers of corrugated boxes, honeycomb paperboard, paper stock models and paper pipes, the show attracts manufacturers, buyers and end-users alike. It is a must-attend event that sharpens participants' competitive edge by providing networking opportunities, technological updates and news of the latest industry developments.
