AMI's 3rd international PVC FORMULATION 2011 will take place from 15-17 Feburary 2011 at the Maritim Hotel in Düsseldorf, Germany, which is conveniently located across a footbridge from Terminal C at the International Airport, with easy access to the town centre by train or car. There is a welcome reception and registration on the first evening, followed by a 2-day programme of technical and market presentations. Last year's PVC Formulation 2010 event attracted over 230 attendees from across the world.
The global PVC compounding industry has been challenged by the move away from established additives, particularly heavy metal stabilisers and phthalate plasticisers. When one ingredient in a formulation is replaced, the whole recipe needs to be redeveloped to take into account the different balance of properties required, from heat and weathering resistance to food contact safety, depending on the application.
Sometimes new co-stabilisers are necessary or other synergistic additives. PVC Formulation 2011 provides a place to debate the latest changes in PVC compounds, driven by legislation and technical trends, plus increasing demands on material performance. It is also a place to hear about new additives and the latest research.
