Mauser starts reconditioning joint venture in Brazil

Mauser starts reconditioning… Mauser Group, a worldwide leading company in industrial packaging, signed a reconditioning joint venture agreement with Bressan Inovações Ambientais in Brazil. With this partnership, Mauser expands its reconditioning activities in the South of Brazil in order to better serve its customers in the region.

Bressan Inovações Ambientais is a well-known company in the industrial packaging market located in Canoas, close to Porto Alegre, Brazil. The company is a family-owned business and has been operating in the market for more than 30 years. Bressan reconditions steel drums, plastic drums, jerry cans as well as IBCs and furthermore produces PCR (Post Consumer Resin). The cooperation with Mauser/NCG is planned to start in May 2012, offering customers washed, rebottled, trip-leased, and laundered IBCs as well as Mauser’s “Total Recollect” services that include a comprehensive recollection of different packaging solutions.

“Expanding the reconditioning activities in the South of Brazil is in line with Mauser’s strategy to help customers combine economy with ecology. Due to this joint venture, our local customers not only benefit from advanced packaging solutions through the synergies between Bressan, Mauser and NCG Tankpool. They will also profit from new services such as rebottling,” says Ricardo Goldenberg, Director at NCG Tankpool, the Brazilian NCG subsidiary.

In September 2011, Mauser/NCG already announced the opening of a new factory building adjacent to its location in Taubaté near São Paulo, Brazil, to recycle materials that will be used as PCR for producing new packaging solutions. These latest investments in Brazil underline the company’s commitment to professionally manage the entire life cycle of plastic packaging.
